Yoga at Lifestyle Monks

What is Hatha Yoga?

Hatha Yoga is a traditional style of yoga combining physical postures, controlled movement, breathing and relaxation. In our classes, you’ll move through a mix of standing, seated and floor-based positions at a steady, accessible pace, with time to focus on technique, breathing and how your body moves.

Who is Hatha Yoga for?

People join our classes for many different reasons. We welcome office and desk-based workers, tradespeople and manual workers, martial artists, gym members, runners and field-sport athletes, as well as people simply looking to move more and feel better. Yoga can be particularly useful for people who spend long periods sitting, standing or working physically and want to improve mobility, reduce stiffness and support greater comfort through areas such as the hips, shoulders and lower back.

Our Approach to Yoga

Our approach focuses on quality of movement rather than forcing positions or competing with others. Exercises can be adjusted to suit different abilities, mobility levels and experience, allowing each person to work comfortably while gradually developing their practice.

All of our Yoga classes take place on premium Jiu-Jitsu mats, providing a softer, more cushioned surface than traditional wooden or hard gym flooring. This makes kneeling, floor-based postures and transitions more comfortable on the knees, hands and body while still providing a stable surface for standing and balance work.

Suitable for Beginners & Experienced Practitioners

You do not need previous yoga experience or a particular level of flexibility to start. Complete beginners can learn the fundamentals progressively, while more experienced practitioners can continue refining their movement, control, breathing and technique.

YOGA MEMBER TESTIMONIALS

Couldn’t recommend Dean's yoga classes enough. He's such a knowledgeable teacher. He changes classes up while still making sure you are progressing with everything else in the yoga class. He pushes you while still making sure it’s in your limits. Such a relaxing class and a great way to start a Saturday morning! Would highly recommend Dean.

I've been attending Dean's yoga and fitness classes in Rush and find them both really enjoyable and great for socialising/catching up with others. Would definitely recommend them!

I started off my yoga experience with Dean and have been at it nearly a year now! Dean is very approachable and professional in what he does. There is always a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere before during and after the class. It is great if you are a beginner or more experienced. Couldn’t recommend Dean's yoga class enough!
